Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Scanner Bot has adopted this Privacy Policy, which applies to and governs your access to the use of the services available on this website ('Scanner Bot', 'we', and/or 'our'), and/or services (collectively referred to herein as the 'Service').

We care about the privacy of our users, and therefore, we adopted this Privacy Policy. You can browse our website without letting us know who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. In case of any change in this Privacy Policy in a material way, we will update the Last-Modified date as mentioned at the start of this document. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are updated on this page. If you do not agree to our Privacy Policy, it is your choice to discontinue the use of our Service.

2. NO SALE OF PERSONAL DATA

Scanner Bot clearly and strictly states: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Your trust is paramount. While we may work with service providers to help us operate our Service (as detailed below), we do not monetize your personal data by selling it to data brokers or marketing agencies. Your data is used strictly to provide, maintain, and improve the Service you use.

3. Information We Collect and Use

Scanner Bot uses information we collect to operate, maintain, and provide you with the features and functionality of the Service, to analyze how the Service is used, diagnose service or technical problems, maintain security, personalize content, and comply with applicable laws.

Information You Provide

You provide us with information when you use our services. If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address, and our responses.

Scanned & Generated Content (Local Processing)

All scanning and generation operations are performed locally on your device using client-side technology. We do not upload your scanned images or generated QR code content to our servers. Your scan history is stored locally in your browser's Local Storage and never transmitted to us.

4. Automated Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns.

Cookies

When you use the Service, we may send one or more 'cookies' – a small data file – to your computer to uniquely identify your browser and help Scanner Bot enhance your navigation. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive after you close your browser so that it can be used on subsequent visits. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies, though some features of the Service may not function properly without them.

Log Files

Our servers automatically record certain information sent by your web browser. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol ('IP') address, browser type, referring/exit pages and URLs, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.

Device Identifiers

When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may access, collect, monitor, and/or remotely store one or more 'device identifiers.' Device identifiers are small data files or similar data structures stored on or associated with your mobile device, which uniquely identify your mobile device and are used to enhance the Service.

Geo-Location Information

When you use the Service by or through a mobile device, we may access, collect, monitor, and/or remotely store 'location data,' which may include GPS coordinates. Use of location-based services requires this data, but it is not shared as personally identifiable information outside of necessary service providers.

5. How We Use and Share Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us to present and conduct our Services, provide you with information or products you request, and notify you about changes to our Services.

Service Providers

Scanner Bot may share the information you provide with third parties, such as vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and analytics providers, specifically for the purpose of providing the Service to you. These third parties are bound by privacy obligations.

Legal Compliance

Scanner Bot may disclose your information if required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, or legal process to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect Scanner Bot's rights or property.

Business Transfers

As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets. Visitor information is generally one of the transferred business assets in these types of transactions. However, the 'No Sale' of personal data policy remains in effect regarding selling data as a standalone product.

6. Regulatory Requirements (GDPR & CCPA)

We are committed to compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU users and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California users.

  • GDPR: If you are from the EEA, our legal basis for collecting key info is 'Performance of Contract' and 'Legitimate Interests'. You have rights to access, rectification, and erasure.
  • CCPA: California residents have specific rights to know what data is collected and to request deletion. As stated, we DO NOT sell your personal information.

7. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

If we change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we may disclose it. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
